Doris Maxine Jones, 95, of Springfield, MO passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024. She was born January 8, 1929, to Harold and Agnes Henderson in Omaha, NE.

Doris attended high school at Central High in Omaha, NE and went on to receive her bachelor's degree at the University of Iowa. She married John "Jack" E. Jones who was from Grand Island, NE and the two had four children. Jack was a Commander in the USN, and the family lived in several places before settling in Colorado Springs, CO in 1971. Doris developed many hobbies in her life. She enjoyed playing golf, snow skiing and traveling the world. She was also known to play an excellent game of Bridge. Later in life, Doris spent 7 years at Sun City in Georgetown, TX before moving to Ozark, MO where she spent the last 4 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack in 1977 and her oldest son, Glenn C. Jones in 2016.

She is survived by her oldest daughter, Cory Silva of New Mexico; her son, Ray Jones of Poulsbo, WA; and her youngest daughter, Wendy Jones of Ozark, MO.

Doris will be placed with Jack on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan BLVD Denver, CO 80235.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
