Born on December 19, 1952, in Parsons, Kansas, Donald was the cherished son of Francis E. Tharp and Leola Leek, both of whom predeceased him.

Growing up in a loving home, Donald was a devoted family man who carried the values instilled in him by his parents throughout his life. A graduate of Bartlesville High School, he pursued a career as an auto mechanic, a field in which he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. His skill and expertise in this area were widely recognized, and he was known for his dedication and craftsmanship.

Donald was a man of many talents and interests. His love of mechanics extended beyond his profession; he had a lifelong passion for working on and restoring motorcycles and historic cars. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and landscaping, activities that brought him joy and peace. Known for his love of grilling and smoking foods, Donald's gatherings were a testament to his warm hospitality and generous nature.

A kind-hearted and dependable man, Donald was blessed with a smile that could light up any room and a knack for telling corny jokes that never failed to bring laughter to those around him. His punctuality and reliability were admired by all who knew him, and his presence in the community was a source of comfort and support.

An active member of Eagle Wing Family Church of Hartville, Missouri, and the Hartville Odd Fellows Lodge #226, Donald was deeply committed to his faith and community. His church family and numerous close friends were an integral part of his life, and he found great fulfillment in helping others with any mechanical needs they had.

Donald leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his cherished children: his oldest daughter Lisa Myers, his second daughter Teresa Burleigh, his son Christopher Tharp and Wife Becky Tharp, Donald's family was the light of his life, and he took immense pride in his nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also had two surviving older sisters, Carolyn Joy and Janice Cox, who were dear to his heart. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Donald's close community friends and church family for their unwavering love and support.
