IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald
Rieck
June 26, 1944 – February 27, 2025
Donald "Don" Harvey Rieck, age 80, went to be with the Lord on February 27th, 2025, after bravely battling cancer for 4 years. He was at home, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Born in Dyersburg, TN, Don graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School in 1963, then proceeded to vocational school for electronics technology, graduating in 1964. Proudly patriotic, he then served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Bad Hersfeld, Germany. Upon completion of service, he went to work Univac St. Paul before going to work for Northwestern Bell/Qwest, from where he retired after 32 years.
After finding Christ, Don embraced his faith and led his family to love and serve the Lord. He volunteered on church boards as well as with Campers on Mission, and looked for opportunity to share his faith in his community
Don met his wife, Nancy, at a mutual friend's wedding in 1967, and after a brief courtship married in 1968. They shared the next 56 years going through life together.
Don loved spending time with his wife and family, raising horses, flying radio-controlled airplanes, travelling the country in his RV, and watching his beloved Kansas City Chiefs.
He was preceded in Heaven by his mother and father, Harvey and Helen Rieck.
Don leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy; faithful dog Mitzi; daughter Pamela Rieck; daughter Donna Tunnell, her husband Benji and their children, Mirabelle and Constance; sister Sandi Kerscher and her husband Dave; sister Shirley Hill and her husband Rick, brother Duane Rieck and his wife Kay; brother-in-law Bob Kangas and his wife Alicia; and many nieces and nephews.
