Born in Tulsa, OK to Joseph Felix Ready and Fannie Ethel Ready, they moved to Flute Springs, OK when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Sallisaw High School in OK in 1959 and started working at Gospel Publishing House Assembly of God Headquarters as a pressman the same year. He would work at GPH until his retirement.

He enjoyed living in the country, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, rebuilding old cars, woodworking and building things. He would always help anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife, Becky of the home; his daughters, Donna and Kevin McGuire of Noble, OK and Kimberly and Michael Hedden of Springfield, MO; his son, Donald Ready, Jr. of Springfield, MO; his grandchildren, Brad, Shawna, Brittany, and Tiffany; his great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Lexi, Kalli, Cheyenne, Chloe, Isla, Isabella and Ella; and numerous other family members and friends.

He passed away peacefully in his home with his loved ones by his side.

A private celebration of his life with family will be held at a later date.
