Donald "Don" Eugene Oleson Sr., 73, of Springfield, MO, passed away August 11, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born November 11, 1944, in Springfield, MO, to Claude and Ethel Oleson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lloyd.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary Oleson; daughters, Annette Roberts (Doug); Angie Nava; Amy Oleson; son, Don Jr. (Jamie); grandchildren, Nathan Roberts, Nicholas Roberts, Noah Roberts, Chantal Holmes, Madison Holmes, Samantha Nava, and Jasmine Nava; and many family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Don was a very caring man who could brighten any room with his goofy humor and infectious smile. He had nothing but love in his heart for his family and was always the first to volunteer his time and knowledge to help someone in need.

Don proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was very patriotic. He had a love for God that never faltered and attended James River Church. He was saved as a child and will forever walk with God in heaven where he has finally reunited with his mom, dad, brother and all of his family and friends who have passed before him. Don loved the song, "Waitin' on a Woman" by Brad Paisley. His family and friends are comforted with the knowledge that he will be right there on that bench patiently waiting to be reunited with his wife and the rest of his family.

Visitation will be held at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services (2026 W. Woodland St., Springfield) on Wednesday, August 15th from 4-6 pm. Services will be held at James River Church, South Campus (6100 N. 19th St., Ozark) on Thursday, August 16th starting at 12:30 pm with graveside services immediately following in Hazelwood Cemetery.
