Obituary

Dolores Ann Hampton, 84, of Springfield, MO, passed away June 3, 2020. She was born June 15, 1935, in Shamrock, TX, to Troy Franklin and Francis Thomas (Pollard) Welty. Due to health issues Dolores was a resident at Springvalley Nursing Home.

She was the owner of Primtime Video, Red Bow Antiques and part owner of Viking Flea Market. Dolores and her dad were deputies on land and also did water patrol in Shamrock, TX.

She loved to read, do scrapbooking and working in her yard. She had a great love for cats. She would take in any and all cats to feed them and nurse them back to health. She was the original cat lady.

On October 4, 1952, she married the love of her life, John Sanford Hampton. He preceded her in death in 2003.

She is survived by a son, Phillip Hampton and wife Wanda; grandchildren, Brandy Michelle Hampton, Jonna Lea Othel Hampton, Randy Hampton and Bethany Ann Bell; great-grandchildren, Nicole Elizabeth Hastings, Travis Matthew Hilburn and Kimberly Francis Evans (she lived and cared for her great-grandmother for two years); and caretaker, Belinda Hilburn (grandma's caretaker for the last 12 years). She leaves behind a very special person, Tony Hilburn. He was her caretaker for many years due to her ongoing illnesses. He was there for her day and night. She would refer to him as her other son.

We all loved her and will miss her very much.

Private family services will be held in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
