Linda "Diane" Matherly was born September 1, 1948 in Monette, AR and passed away February 8, 2026 in Republic, MO.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, James "Ott" Smothers and Vernell "Opaline" Wallace.

Diane is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry; son, Jerry Jr.; sisters, Sandra Henard, Beebe, AR, Janet Robertson, Williamsville, MO, and Terry McCulley, Paragould, AR; and several nieces and nephews

Diane was a devoted Army spouse accompanying her husband to many locations. She was retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

She fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease for over 8 years. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Diane was cremated and services will be held at 3 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
