Obituary

Diana Mae Finley Staas, 58, of Springfield, MO passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023. She was born June 9, 1965, in Fort Worth, TX.

Diana married the father of her children, Stephen Staas, in 1982, and were together until 2012. The two had four sons, Jason, Shawn, Joshua, and Joseph. She was a wonderful mother and cared deeply for her boys. They knew that they could depend on her for anything.

She enjoyed reading her Bible and watching Billy Graham. Her family was proud that she accepted Jesus Christ into her heart towards the end of her life. She was an excellent cook and put her skills to work as a cafeteria employee for the public-school systems in Texas and Springfield, MO. Diana liked Dr. Pepper, sweets and finding treasures at yard sales with her best friend, Eva Dennis. She was a great storyteller and teller of tall tales. Her favorite roll was that of "Nanna D, D, and Grandma Diana" to her eight grandchildren. She loved them with all of her heart.

Diana was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Staas; her parents; her aunt, Marie; and Bobby Pratt.

She is survived by her sons, Jason (Tara) Staas, Shawn (Mary) Staas, and Joshua (Tannis) Staas; her grandchildren, Madeleine, Kimberlynn, Jase, Andrew, Ethan, Mason, Emma and Jaxon; her companion of 17 years, Vince Hammond; Stephen Staas; her brother, Jerry Pratt (Betty) and their children, Stephanie and Katrina; Tina Graham; Tonya Kennedy; James Martin and Gary Martin; her cousin, Tammy; her best friend, Eva Dennis; and many other friends and family members.
