Obituary

Dennis Lee Anderson, 77, of Bolivar, MO, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was born September 1, 1944, in Clay Center, KS to Claude and Thelma "Ruth" Anderson.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother and father, and brothers: Carl Anderson, Dale Anderson, and Neil Anderson.

Dennis "Denny" went to Spring Creek Country School in Palmer, KS and then to Clifton High School in Clifton KS.  After high school he joined the Navy for four years where he studied to be an Electrician.  He carried on with the electrician trade and was an active member of the IBEW until retirement.  He was married for 20 years and lived in Galva Kansas where he raised his children.  One of his greatest joys was being a Dad and a Grandpa.  He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports and enjoyed playing with them in his younger days. He also enjoyed watching the Chiefs football, KU Jayhawks basketball, and Nascar.  Upon retirement, he moved to Lake Pom De Terre to enjoy his hobbies of boating, fishing, and bird watching.  He also received his Square Dance Diploma in February of 2008 and danced with the Pommenaders Square dancing club for a couple of years.

He is survived by and most proud of his children: Theresa (Mike) Johnson, Misa (John) Daily, and stepson Robert (Alicia) Dixon; grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Quinten Daily, Jocelyn Daily, Myah Daily, Emery Daily, Eden Daily, Chad Jensen, Kyle Dixon, Zach Dixon, LeAira Dixon, and Piper Dixon; siblings Claudia (Jerry) Biery, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held at his home by the lake with close family and friends on Sunday, July 3 at 1pm.
