Delores Jean Merrill (Votrain) of Springfield Mo, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Dee Dee was born on November 21, 1940, to Edwin and Lottie Votrain (Schempp) in Lebanon IL.

She graduated from Lebanon Community High School. After graduating, she worked a few jobs including a St. Louis clothing store and as a secretary for a local dentist. She later attended LPN school and earned her LPN with IV certification license. Dolores was an eastern star. She loved the Lord and had a passion for the outdoors.

Delores is proceeded in death by her parents, Edwin and Lottie Votrain; sons, Kevin and Keith Merrill; her brothers, Edwin William (Irene), Burnell (Martha) and Grant (Doris) Votrain; her sisters, Vivian (Rudy) Robertson, Norma (Ray) Taubig, Martha (Gerald) Scandling and Betty (Milton) Gross.

Dee is survived by three children, Pam Merrill, Charles Merrill II, Deidre (Rick) Blackwell and her adopted granddaughter, Angela Merrill; her sisters, June (Sandy) Sanderson and Sally (Bill) Nagy; the father of her children, Charles T Merrill; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be held July 11, 2025, at Nathanael Greene Park pavilion at 5 PM, 2400 South Scenic Ave., Springfield, MO 65807. Graveside service will be held in Lebanon Illinois at a later date.
