Debra "Debbie" Suzanne Burks, 64, of Ozark, MO, passed away March 6, 2020, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was born November 7, 1955, to Ray Dean and Margaret Fox. Her childhood years were spent in Ponce de Leon. She graduated salutatorian from Galena High School, Class of 1973.
Debbie married Don Burks May 25, 1979. Debbie was a member of the Southside Church of Christ.
Don an Debbie partnered with good friends, Bob & Helen Tate, in 1986 to open The Little Red Wagon in Ozark & later two additional stores in Branson.
Debbie was very talented and creative and decided to open a scrapbook store, Forever Memories, in 2003. This venture served as the foundation for many lifelong friendships.
Debbie is survived by husband, Don; daughter, Amy Richerson and husband Donald; son, Dustin Burks and wife Nicole; stepsons, Rob and Jim Burks; the three greatest joys in her life, her grandsons, Carter, Connor and Mason; her brothers, Danny Fox (Mary), Doug Fox (Robin), Brad Fox (Cathy); and blessed with a wonderful mother, Margaret, who is also her best friend.
We will have a gathering to celebrate Debbie being in her eternal home Saturday, March 14, with a visitation from 4-6 pm and memorial service immediately following. This will take place at the Southside Church of Christ in Ozark, MO.
