Dean Arnold "Pops" Ellingsen, 81, of Everton, Missouri passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022.

Dean was born November 3, 1940, son of Elmer and Madeleine (Gilson) Ellingsen.

Dean grew up in Iowa and graduated from Luther College in Decorah, IA. In his early career, he was a park ranger and very active in the Kansas City horse community.  Much of Dean's career ultimately centered around aviation where he was a Captain for TWA from 1966-2000. While at TWA, he met his wife Carol, and they embarked on a 31-year adventure together.  As their time at TWA came to an end and fearing that retirement would leave them bored, Dean and Carol expanded their farm in Everton, Missouri, raising cattle and making lifelong friends along the way.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and son, Dean (Skip) Ellingsen, Jr.

Dean is survived by his wife, Carol; their three children, Karin Weber of Raleigh, NC, Christi (Trent) Reichert of Willard, MO, and Mick (Debbie) Conrad of Prairie Village, KS.  Pops, as he was known to his family, treasured his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his close family friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 3 ^rd at Mama Locas restaurant in Ash Grove, Missouri.  Friends are invited to stop by and pay their respects with the family between 6 and 8 pm.
