IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Earl
Wagner
June 2, 1962 – October 3, 2017
David Earl Wagner, 55, very peacefully passed away at his home in Ozark, MO Tuesday October 3, 2017. David was born in Weaverville, CA June 2, 1962. He graduated from Loyalton High School in California. He continued adult education through Berean School of the Bible from Global University.
David started his career as an entrepreneur at the age of 8 picking black walnuts to sell. Then it was mining for night crawlers using lighting rods, by age 15 he started the firewood business that quickly turned into a logging business. He purchased his first logging truck at the age of 21. He logged in the summer, then went on longterm missions trips in the winter where the call of missions became the passion of his heart. That turned into his life-long career as a full time missionary builder with the Assemblies of God World Missions. He started building in Ecuador. In 2002 David founded Builders International with the vision of building Bible Schools and church facilities in every nation of the world, a construction ministry of Assemblies of God World Missions. He built Bible schools and churches in 87 countries. His last and most recent build was a Teen Challenge home for 50 women and children in Cambodia. His work created anchor points for the gospel that will effect generations to come.
David loved adventure especially when it would take him to the best fishing, whether it be in the back country of Venezuela or the jungles of Honduras or on the open waters of Mexico or Belize. If it wasn't fishing then it was hunting, it was anything outdoors.
David was married to his best friend and companion Lali Wagner. David was a loving father of Chadwick, Devin, Brandon, and Aaron, and father-in-law of Ashly, Tamara, Grace and Shannon"to-be"; his parents, Stan and Julie Wagner; siblings, Laurel and brother-in-law Kim Harvey, Dan, Carrie and brother-in-law Jerry Langum, Cristie and brother-in-law Steve Lebsack, Vera, Gary, Deanna and Davey and sister-in-law Olga along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and countless friends around the world. David will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, proud and loving father, hard-working son and brother, and the best of friends. He generously gave to others and labored tirelessly to better the lives of people across the globe. His diligent work to build schools and churches overseas won him the respect and love of thousands. His infectious passion for spreading the love of Christ radiated from him in everything he did. In his life and in his death, he would have wanted everything to point back to Jesus. David left a huge footprint to fill. We can't wait to see him again.
Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:30 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 2:30 PM, Saturday, October 7th, 2017 in the James River Church South Campus, Clark Chapel, Ozark, MO with Reverend Tim Keene officiating.
