IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Lee
Clutter
July 19, 1950 – February 24, 2019
David Lee Clutter, 68, of Springfield, Mo. passed away on February 24, 2019. He was born on July 19, 1950 in Fort Dodge, IA. as the eldest son to Walter and Francis Clutter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
David is survived by his daughter Serena, brothers Don Clutter and wife Debby of Republic, Mo. and Jack Clutter and wife Cyndi of Willard, Mo., nieces Paula, Ramona, and Tiffany; nephews, Shawn and Nathan; and aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as other family members and many friends.
David was a 1968 graduate of Central High School in Springfield, Mo. He held various jobs through his healthier years including his first job at the W.T. Grant store, this was completed while in high school through the COE program. Working in sales and promotions for the then new Gain detergent company, this job required extensive travel which included considerable time spent in the New England area of the country. David's other jobs, all in Springfield, included working at Katz Drug Store, Herr's Department Store and several years at both Union National Bank as well as Busy Bee clothing store. In later years David was a DJ, sharing his love for music with others. He especially loved dance music and disco and anything that Diana Ross touched. David lived most of his life in Springfield but also enjoyed living in the San Francisco, Ca. area for a while.
David was a spiritual man who placed his hope in the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was also a people person which is evident by his many lifelong friends that he greatly loved. He was also very fond of his nieces and nephews and took pride in their accomplishments.
David battled many hardships and major health issues in his later years but he faced them with great determination and strength. He had a special relationship with his mother Francis and even when he was confined to a wheel chair he would make every effort to visit her whenever he was provided with the opportunity.
David also made numerous wonderful friends through his years spent at James River Nursing and Rehab. Many of their residents and employees alike were very special to him and he helped provide substantial encouragement to them.
We are saddened by David's passing but are so glad that he no longer has to endure the pain and sorrow that life can bring. We take great comfort that he is so much better off now as he is in the care of our Loving Lord!
A celebration of David's life will be held at 4 PM, Friday, March 8, 2019, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W Woodland, Springfield, MO.
