IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David
Barnett
November 1, 1970 – September 6, 2020
David "DJ" Jonathan Barnett, 49, was born November 1, 1970, to Winston and Judy Barnett in Farmington, New Mexico. He stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 6, 2020, at Cox Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. He had fought a courageous battle with cancer for approximately a year.
David graduated from Glendale High School in 1989. He worked in sales management most of his adult life taking him to Tulsa, Abilene, Colorado Springs, Kansas City and back home to Springfield. He was currently employed at Arrow Pointe Solar Systems.
David gave his heart to Jesus at Falls Creek Youth Camp at age sixteen. His faith was very strong during his illness and he often requested that we read scripture to him whether he was at home or in the hospital. We have the assurance that he is in the presence of God and we will see him there.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Bridgeforth; sister, DeEdra Owens; his grandparents, Wanda and Joe Bridgeforth and Myrtle and Forrest Barnett; niece, Stefanie Owens; and his brother-in-law, David Jones.
He is survived by his Dad and Mom, Winston and Sue Barnett, Nixa, MO; his sisters, Dayna Jones, Austin, AR, and Jonna Barnett, Springfield, MO; his brother, Jeremy (Tamara) Barnett, Anna, Ohio; and his step brothers, Vince (Kandy) Blubaugh, Fredericksburg, VA and David (Jill) Raney, Springfield, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Memorial Service will be held at National Heights Baptist Church, 3050 N National, Springfield, MO 65803, at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 3, 2020, under the direction of Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield, MO.
