Ellen Darlene Mackey, 84, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015. She was born June 15, 1931, in Seymour, MO, to Lawrence and Sarah Carpenter. Sarah died shortly after giving birth to Darlene and Darlene lived with her aunt and uncle, Bill and Oma Alcorn. She married Burney Webster Mackey on September 4, 1951. They have one son, Brad Mackey, who lives in Ozark, MO, with wife, Amy, and their two children, Alyssa and Bryann. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Darlene was a lifelong resident of Seymour and a Foster Grandmother with Head Start for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burney Webster Mackey; sisters, Olivia Martin and Relda Shook. A service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2015, in the Methodist Church, Seymour. Graveside services will follow in the Seymour City Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield.
