Obituary

Daniel Edward "Dan" Snodgrass of Nixa, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, after a very long and courageous battle with cancer.

Dan was born in Owensville, Missouri on April 5, 1954, to parents Jim and Martha Snodgrass. The family moved to Steelville when Dan was six years old and grew up in the ideal small-town atmosphere where kids roamed freely from daylight to dark--and every parent in town was also your parent.  Oh, the stories he could tell about those days!

Through his adult years he proved his intelligence and dedication in various careers. The most formative were the years spent at Beck Motors in Freeburg, where he had a wide clientele and the respect and friendship of the Beck family. Eventually he decided the future was in the new world of computing. He joined the Lemberger Company in Vienna. This was a small start-up that designed software upon which schools could run all their systems digitally rather than on paper. Dan was very adept at helping get the hardware and software working together, and a natural salesman for the products. This is where Dan would make his mark in this industry. As the venture grew and was subsequently sold to larger companies Dan always moved into more challenging and substantive roles--even traveling worldwide keeping the company focused and on-track. All this while fighting cancer.

Dan's downtime was also a showcase for his talents. He learned about cars growing up beside his Dad, became a serious photographer, decorated marksman, and he especially loved scuba diving anywhere, anytime.

Dan also was tasked with taking care of his parents and younger brother Tim. He never wavered from this labor of love. Now Dan gets his well-deserved rest and long-awaited family reunion.

Dan will be sadly missed by his family, and a host of friends and colleagues.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, James Lloyd Snodgrass Jr. and Martha Louise (nee Drewel) Snodgrass, infant brother Lester Paul, and brothers Johnny Lee, and Timothy Lloyd.

He is survived by his wife Summer McFall of Nixa, MO; daughter Jennifer (Dustin) Ensign, grandsons Corin and Xander Ensign all of Cameron, MO, and son Matthew Snodgrass of Cameron, MO, sister-in-law, Tammy Snodgrass of St. James, MO; nieces, nephews; many other relatives and friends.

There will be two services.  Springfield friends and family are invited to meet at Schweitzer Church on November 18th at 5:00 p.m. for service and gather from 5:30-7:00 p.m. for a time of visitation. Snacks will be provided.  Pastor Sheila Pippin and Don McFall officiating.

Services for family and friends in Steelville will be held at a later date, at the Masonic Lodge in Steelville, MO.

The Family chose cremation as the final disposition. Dan will be interred at the Snodgrass Cemetery in Vienna, MO.
