Danny Allen Mallow, 63, of Springfield, MO, passed away January 30, 2020. He was born April 13, 1956, in Waynesville, MO, to Merrion and Wanda Mallow.
Dan's life was full of so many experiences, from a childhood in a family-owned country store, to being a radio station DJ, EMT, and police officer. He worked the last 20 years as a database administrator at City Utilities. Dan's love for electronics began with building and operating a ham radio. He progressed into building his own computer and software before turning it into a career. Dan also had fond memories of his time in the Civil Air Patrol and volunteering with at-risk youth teaching rock climbing and repelling. Most recently, Dan's hobbies included photography, firearms, camping and hiking, and dog training. He had a love of learning and sharing knowledge with others in order to enrich their lives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Mallow; and step-son Robert Junte.
Dan is survived by his wife, Linda Mallow; father, Merrion Mallow; sister Barb Lueckenotte and husband Sam, sister Linda Bendele and husband Kevin; daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Jason Eckstein; nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and friends.
A celebration of Dan's life will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, February 8, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W Woodland St, Springfield, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rescue One of Springfield, Missouri. Rescue One was the wonderful organization that help find homes for Dan and Linda's three French Mastiffs - Bear, Molly and Peaches.
