Obituary

Delbert Myron Buzz Roberts, 66, a longtime resident of Grove, OK, passed away on the morning of February 26, 2015, near Springfield, MO. He was the second of three children born to James Delbert Percy Roberts and Mary Elizabeth (Paden) Schmid. Buzz honorably served in the US Army, transferring to Bien Hoa, Vietnam on February, 1968 unto July 1969 and reassigned to the 190th Assault Helicopter Company, 145th Combat Aviation Battalion until his term s end. Buzz married the love of his life, Robyn Lee Patterson, in 1974 and had three daughters. He worked as a stone mason in his early years and more recently for Crafton Tull & Associates as a Land Surveyor, Crew Chief. Buzz and Robyn spent much time in their park-like backyard gardening, landscaping, and enjoying nature. They spent several memorable summers on their boat exploring Grand Lake and living adventures across wide America in their R.V. Buzz enjoyed time with family and friends and many would say that he never met a stranger. Above all else, he cherished his Christian faith and sought a deeper relationship with his Lord. Buzz is survived by his loving wife, three daughters and their husbands, three grandsons, one granddaughter, his mother, aunt and husband, four nieces, one nephew, many cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, brother, sister, brother-in-law, and many extended family members. He is already missed by so many. A Celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Newsong Church between Grove and Jay, OK. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield.
