In Springfield, Missouri, on Monday afternoon April 16, 2018, Jesus came by to visit Cody Merl Baker and told him it was time for him to come home. Jesus explained to Cody that he was so loved here and would be greatly missed but that his work here on earth was done.

Cody had done an excellent job of bringing joy and laughter to everyone he was around but the greatest thing he had done was to raise his children in church and share the gospel of Jesus with everyone he knew. Cody was purposely placed on this earth, in Enid, OK, 34 years ago on January 14, 1984, to his loving parents, Greg and Jamie Baker. He was the oldest of three children. His siblings are Tillman and Jodi Baker.

Cody married the love of his life Ashley, October 9, 2004, and together they have three precious children, Olin, age 12, and twins, Isabella and Maverick, ages 8. Throughout his life, Cody was surrounded by a large loving family, many of which were present and witnessed the day that Jesus took his hand and walked him home.

Cody's life will be celebrated Thursday, April 19, 2018, in the James River Church, West Campus, 3953 W Farm Road 168, Springfield, MO 65807 (off of James River Freeway). Visitation will be from 11-12 with a service starting at 12:00 pm. Cody was a Veteran of the United States Navy, so therefore will be laid to rest, with Full Military Honors at 2:00 pm, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.

Cody touched so many lives and was loved and adored by everyone who had the privilege to know him. Thank you Cody for truly being our Joy and our World. We Love You.
