Obituary

Charles Wayne White (Charlie) passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 8th, 2024. He was born in Marionville, MO on January 21, 1942, to Everett and Neoma White. He was raised on a small dairy farm in Clever MO.

Charlie Graduated in 1960 from Clever High School and joined the National Guard in 1964. He also worked at Mid America Dairy and was a Deputy Sheriff during this time. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Danni Anderson. In 1972, he began his career at City Utilities of Springfield, where he worked initially at the Water Department and then Southwest Power Station. He retired from City Utilities as a Control Room Operator at Southwest Power Station in 2002. Charlie was a devoted family man. He loved cooking, he excelled in smoked meats. People loved Charlie's BBQ and homemade BBQ sauce. He was one of the early members of Orchard Crest Baptist church where he served several years as a Deacon. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor.

Charlie was proceeded in death by his parents, Everett and Neoma and his grandson, Jason White (survived by wife Lauren).

He is survived by his sisters, Wynona Bradley and Floella Miekley; wife, Danni White; son, Scott (Karen); daughter, Lisa Holbert (Jeff); grandson, Zachary Holbert (Krysta); granddaughter, Ashley Wade (Josh); granddaughter, Lindsey Holbert and 8 great grandchildren.

Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
