Charles Edward Whitmore, 61, of Springfield MO was called home November 16, 2021.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Dorthelia Whitmore. 8 wonderful, loving step kids, (6 Boys and 2 Girls), 23 plus grandchildren. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and a host of other family and friends from Missouri, Arkansas, down to Florida.

Charles was a man of many things who lived a challenging yet overcoming life. He was a dedicated truck driver who loved to hum his Al Green music. He loved to laugh, spend time with his boys, watch his grandson play football, enjoyed Stretchy Wetchy (M'Kenzie) and Payden playing and falling off furniture, spending time with family and most of all his wife's good cooking. Charles was also a phenomenal stepfather and would do what he could to help. Even with his cane and breathing machine he kept up with the best of us. His raspy voice can be heard from a mile away. "Naw I'm okay" was his favorite line. He was a quiet, down to earth, and melo man. Nothing seemed to bother him. We all loved the Father and Grandpa he was and he will forever be missed.
