Charles Chester Baughman, 82, of Springfield, MO passed away Friday, January 3, 2025. He was born January 25, 1942, to Thomas and Opal Baughman in Kansas City, MO.

Charles spent his childhood in the foster care system. He enlisted in the United States Army as soon he was able and proudly served his country. He worked many years at Mid-America Dairy and after he retired, he began a fifteen-year long career at the Cameron Correctional Facility.

When Charles wasn't working, he had a guitar in his hand. He loved to sing and play the guitar and did so all of his life. He also enjoyed playing racing games on his PlayStation, gardening and fishing. Charles loved to be outdoors.

Charles was a loving, compassionate, and hardworking man devoted to his family. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. Everyone that met him loved him; he didn't have an enemy. He made mistakes like everyone has, however once he was baptized and saved the Lord was the director of his heart and life. He remained a firm believer and follower of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Opal; his brothers, Bill, Tom and Jim; his sister, Shirley; and his ex-wife and the mother of his daughter, Tonie Pew.

Charles is survived by his son, Jim Baughman; daughter, Stacy Bruce; granddaughters, Lacey and Brooklyn Timmons; and great grandchildren, Amiya Potter, Skyler Crawford, Axton Vaughn, and Zelda and Zarah Dowdle.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, 2026 W. Woodland St Springfield, MO 65807.
