Chad M. Tate, 49, passed Thursday, January 30, 2020, from complications stemming from liver disease. This diagnosis on Thanksgiving 2019 was a shock as we all knew Chad to be a clean living nondrinker. He became a patient of the St. Louis University Hospital's liver transplant team and was in St. Louis when he passed, surrounded by family.
Chad was born in Shawnee, Kansas, and lived there until the age of 12 before moving to Mountain Grove, Missouri with his parents, Ben and Linda Tate. He graduated high school and went on to attend Missouri University of Science & Technology before moving to Springfield and graduating at MSU with a Bachelor's in Art, focusing on video animation and graphic design. Chad worked for KOLR-10 and O'Reilly Automotive before landing at BKD. Chad loved working video production and truly cared for and admired those he worked with at BKD.
Chad is survived by his wife of twenty years, Carissa and his two daughters, Lillian, 16, and Violet, 12 as well as his older brothers Greg Tate, Stilwell, Kansas, and Daniel Tate, Branson. He was also a loving uncle to Rachel, Shelby, Devin, Andrea, and Josh.
Chad loved working with computers and greatly enjoyed playing pinball and other arcade games. He was a lifelong Chiefs fan and loved hockey. He also loved music from the 80s. Anyone who met him became a friend and his kindness was felt by many.
Chad requested no funeral services be held and his organ donor wishes were granted. A true giver to the very end.
