Cecil Olen Cochran was born in Burbank, CA, on June 30, 1939, to John and Mary Cochran. He passed away suddenly August 14, 2014. He grew up in southern California and settled in Camarillo, CA, where he raised his four children. He was actively involved in the youth football for Camarillo Roadrunners. He was so passionate about the boys he coached that he did everything he could to have them succeed. He also worked at the United States Post Office for 37 years, until his retirement in 1999. He loved going to Rock Creek Lake in California to fish and camp. He was a wonderful father to us kids; we have many great memories of all our travels he took us on every summer. He was the best father and he always made us his priority! Cecil also was a proud grandpa of all his grandchildren. He lived for them and they were his pride and joy. Cecil moved to Missouri in 2002 to continue his retirement and enjoy all of his passions. He bought a home and boat to enjoy life, fishing, and shooting, just to name a few. He has met a group of wonderful friends here in Missouri, most that he has met going to the YMCA. His morning routine was to workout, hang with his friends, and talk at the table . Cecil's children are so grateful for all of you for being there for him. He talked highly about all of you; you all know who you are! His resting place will be at Rock Creek Lake in California. He is survived by his five sisters, Joanne Dever, Lucille Perkins, Mary Denning, Nancy Althaus and Elizabeth Roach; his four children, Jerry, Linda, Julie and Steven; and his five grandchildren, Tyler, John, Meagan, Lance and Luke; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all. A celebration of Cecil s life will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, August, 22, 2014, in the Pat Jones YMCA, 1901 E Republic Road, Springfield, MO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
