Carolyn Sue Crouse was born north of Green City, MO, the daughter of Robert and Iona (Harden) Sayre, March 13, 1944. She passed away March 29, 2017, at Magnolia Square Rehab in Springfield, Mo. at the age of 73.
She attended grade schools at rural Chapel School and a short time at Webster City, Iowa. She graduated from High School at Green City, Mo. in the class of 1962.
Carolyn professed faith in Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church, Green City in 1981.
She had a very outgoing personality and never knew a stranger. She excelled at the many jobs she had through the years at several places from Lees Summit, Mo.; San Diego, California; Laughlin, Nevada; and Branson, Mo. where she retired from hotel management and the hospitality industry.
The things Carolyn enjoyed most were cooking large meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas, being a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for 35 years, visiting friends, playing cards and expressing her political views. Being an animal lover her entire life, she enjoyed rescuing and caring for abandoned kittens. Her favorite pets were her dogs, Bruiser and Brandy, along with her cats, Precious and Spitfire.
Carolyn was always ready to aid anyone in need and had a special place in her heart for those who needed help and assistance.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; and a sister, Roberta Sayre, who passed in 1971.
Surviving her are a son, Richard Crouse of Reeds Spring, Mo.; a daughter, Kimberly Crouse and friend, Derek Metzker of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Ronald Sayre; nephews, Mark and Eric Sayre; and nieces, Michele Sayre, Kellie Aldrich, and Jennifer St. John.
Her children are consoled to know that she is at peace in a better place.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services.
