On Friday March 29th, 2024, Carl Elwin Childs, a beloved husband and father of three, passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 88 years. Carl was born to Mollie and Carl Childs Sr, in Filer, Idaho on July 25th, 1935. He attended Lewiston High School and graduated in 1954. He married the love of his life, Norma Phillips, on April 7th, 1957 and they shared nearly 67 years of marriage. He also served his country for four years in the Navy, before he graduated from Cascade College in 1963 with his bachelor's degree. He then loyally worked for Freightliner for 30 years. He was a member of the Church of God, and was devout to his faith until the end. He enjoyed watching his westerns on the "idiot box," solving crosswords, reading history books, feeding the birds, toothpicks, watching football every Sunday, fishing, and spending time with loved ones. He will be remembered for being a kind man of few, yet meaningful words. Carl is survived by his wife Norma Childs; children Debra Nelson, Doug Childs, and Denise Mcknight; grandchildren Sarah Nelson, Abigail Nelson, Camron Childs, Robert Kelley, David Hartman, and William Hartman; and his great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings, and grandson, Michael Hartman.

Carl Childs lived a life full of love, and he will be deeply missed. We love and miss you, Carl!
