IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bruce Webb,
Sr
August 26, 1932 – October 16, 2025
"BRUCE ALLEN WEBB, SR. August 26, 1932 – October 16, 2025
Bruce Allen Webb, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 93 in Springfield, MO. He was born August 26, 1932, to William and Georgia Webb in St. Louis, MO. Bruce lived a life of service, craftsmanship, and adventure.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Bruce served during the Korean War and graduated at the top of his class in the Seabees. After his service, he earned degrees from Ventura College and San Diego State University, where he completed both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees while working full time. An athlete throughout his life, he wrestled; played football, basketball, and fast and slow pitch softball; competed in the Senior Olympics; and also enjoyed pitching horseshoes with his buddies.
Bruce was passionate about the carpentry trade and built everything from Quonset huts to commercial hotels. Each custom home he designed as a contractor had unique architectural features that showed off his creativity. He shared his construction skills teaching at a continuation high school, where his students built homes as part of their studies.
Known affectionately as "Mt. Man" or "Grandpa Bear," Bruce loved the outdoors and the satisfaction of hard work done well. His family will honor his wishes by spreading his ashes in the Cuyamacas of California, where he and his wife enjoyed nature, world travel, and built the greatest friendships of their lives.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Webb, her daughter Heather and husband Matt; his son Bruce Allen Webb, Jr. and wife Mechele, grandchildren Jacob and Megan, and great-grandchildren Maxwell, Parker, and Smith."
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
