Obituary

Bradley Blair Babin passed away peacefully in Springfield Missouri on June 24, 2024. He was born June 11, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His parents were Joseph Gordon Babin and Krispin Kay Balliet Babin.

While his father was in training, the US Army and later in medical practice, Brad and his family lived in New Orleans, Memphis Tennessee, San Antonio Texas, Fairmont West Virginia, Laramie Wyoming and Lewistown Montana. After graduation from high school in Montana, Brad attended LSU in Baton Rouge, La. He later graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelors and Master's degree in English and Creative Writing. As part of his education, he spent several months in Chile as an Exchange Student, teacher and acquired the use of the Spanish language.

Brad was a talented guitarist and played in a small rock band while in high school, he was also a creative writer and had several short stories published in literary journals. He enjoyed reading novels and short stories as well as poetry. As a teenager in Montana, he loved skateboarding and also became a great skier. Brad had a real fondness of the Montana out-of-doors and developed into an avid fly fisherman with favorite streams in Montana and Idaho.

Later in life, Brad lived in Southwest Missouri and worked in home healthcare and in restaurants. No matter where he lived and worked, he was liked and had an easy, friendly manner and made friends readily. He enjoyed animals and usually had a pet dog. Brad was very much a free spirit, especially in regard to his experience in music, literature, art and outdoor life.

Brad leaves behind his father Joseph and stepmom Vera Babin of Springfield Missouri, his mother Krispin Balliet Babin of Lewistown, Montana, brother Clay in St. Louis, brother Mike in Colorado Springs, sister Amy Kopsa in Dundee, Oregon and son Matthew of Steger, Illinois.

A memorial service is planned for later in Montana.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
