Bonnadean Wenzel, 89, passed away February 12, 2017, at home in Nixa, MO. Bonnie was born October 5, 1927, to Norman and Ina Snow in Albany, MO. When she was a freshman in High School the family moved to St. Joseph, MO, where she graduated from Benton High School. On April 4, 1948, she was united in marriage to Herman John Wenzel Jr. She was very happy to be a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and always had fresh deserts ready for children after school. She enjoyed being active in the PTA and any activities with her children.
Bonnie retired from Sherwood Medical of St. Joseph, MO, in 1993. She moved to Nixa in 1994 to live with her daughter, Connie, and son-in-law, Larry Wall. Bonnie loved to travel, making many trips and only missing three states.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; parents, Norman and Ina Snow; brother, Max Snow and his wife Faye; brother-in-law, Bill Wenzel and his wife Barbara; son-in-law, Bill Sowell; and grandson, Michael J. Miano.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Connie Wall and husband Larry; daughter, Pamela Sowell; son, Dennis Wenzel; sister, Ruth Alley and husband Larry; grandsons, Sean Fitzmaurice and wife Janet, Mathew Wenzel and wife Andrea; granddaughters, Kelly Fitzmaurice, Megan Thebenot and husband Gui; two special great-grandchildren, Kennedie Fitzmaurice and Zachery Hays; several nieces and nephews; and one very special niece, Bonnie Harris and husband Don, and their daughter Lana. Bonnie will also be greatly missed by her devoted dog, Masey Kay.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, April 28, 2017, in the chapel in Mount
Olive Cemetery, 2600 Lovers Lane, St. Joseph, MO 64506 with burial of the urn to follow the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or your favorite charity. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the good people at Seasons Hospice and Dr. Guy Miller and his wonderful staff at Mercy Clinic in Nixa, MO.
