Blanche Mae Jones, 90, of Springfield, MO, passed away February 14, 2018. She was born October 6, 1927, to James and Lora Nettles in Wilburton, Oklahoma. Blanche is remembered by her daughter, Karen Warren; son-in-law, Terry Warren; grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Zachary and Lindsay Easley, Ashley Hanley (Derek) and Adam Warren (Rachel); and 8 great grandchildren.

Growing up on a farm, Blanche was the youngest of 5 brothers and sisters. She retired from the Dickerson Park Zoo in 2016 after a wonderful 43 years of service.

Blanche was always known for her smile, laugh, sassiness and love of sports. She was honest and independent. Her support and love for her family were unmatched. She was sure to light up any room she went into, and her gracious and caring attitude was as contagious as could be.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Doling Family Center, Springfield, MO, on March 31, 2018, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that contributions be made to Friends of the Zoo at the Dickerson Park Zoo for a memorial in her honor.
