Beverly June Gray (Nielsen)

Beverly June Gray (Nielsen) was born on December 1, 1951, in Independence, IA, to Dale Nielsen and Verna Fulton. She passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Springfield, MO, after battling chronic health issues.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She leaves behind her brothers Larry (Liz) Nielsen of Neosho, Missouri, and Bill (Pat) Nielsen of Marengo, Iowa; her sister Pam Doak of Grundy Center, Iowa; her sons Jay Coots of Seymour, Missouri, and Nathan (Michelle) Patten of Las Vegas, Nevada; her grandchildren Gwendolyn (Gage) Robles of Joplin, Missouri, and Hunter and Ian Coots of Seymour, Missouri; her great-grandchildren Liam and Ezra of Joplin, Missouri; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives across multiple states.

Beverly led a full and active life almost to the end. She loved being outdoors, especially when attending her grandchildren's sporting events. An avid sports fan, she cherished watching her beloved St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes play, often surrounded by her family.

In lieu of a traditional funeral, and per her wishes, a private memorial service will be held before cremation at the Midwest Crematorium in Springfield, MO, on Friday, May 17, 2024.

Beverly's ashes will be spread at a later time in a location she cherished, ensuring her spirit remains in the natural world she loved so dearly. Beverly will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. The family invites you to share photos, stories, and memories during this difficult period.
