Betty Jo Pinckney, 93, of Springfield, MO, passed away July 26, 2023. She was born March 30, 1930, in Fort Scott, KS, to Dan Picht and Albertina (Mitzner) Picht.

She grew up in Fort Scott as the third of four children. After graduating Fort Scott High School, she began working for the Western Insurance Company. She had begun talking recently about how much she enjoyed the challenge and the friendships of this time in her life.

In 1951, she married Clinton "Buddy" Pinckney of the Frisco Railroad and moved to Springfield. She went to work for the Ollis Insurance Company, where she "practically ran the whole office" for 14 years. After leaving to focus on family, she took up a variety of hobbies. She was an avid crafter, often displaying her work in shows and sales. She spent time every day in her garden. She took great pleasure in showing off her beautiful flowers, having the nicest lawn on the block, and (especially) growing the biggest and best tomatoes.

She left too soon. She is remembered by an extended family too numerous to name everyone, but everyone will forever hold their unique memory of her.
