Betty Jean Fielder, 81, of Springfield, Missouri passed away July 28, 2023. She was born June 26, 1942, to Wellington and Leona Spurgeon.

Betty grew up on a farm in Texas County, Missouri.  She moved to Springfield after graduating from Houston High School in Texas County.  She met and married Jim Fielder in Springfield.  Jim and Betty were married for 58 years when she passed.  Betty retired from Farm Credit in 2002 after a career of almost 20 years in the Springfield office.  She was a devout member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching and attending bible study and Sunday school.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Arnold Layton.

She is survived by her husband Jim and son David.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, Missouri.
