Bernard "Bernie" Raymond Kater, 93, of Pleasant Hope, MO passed away Monday, June 22, 2026. He was born August 16, 1932, to August and Amelia Kater in Ivesdale, IL.

Bernie enjoyed being on his land, farming and tending to his animals. He was also an exceptional carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Helen Kater; his parents; and siblings.

Bernie is survived by his children, Bruce Kater and his wife Susan and Linda Kater; his fur grandchildren, Emily, Popeye, and Edgar Alan Poe; his dear friend, Cathy; and other family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
