Barbara Sue Casper, 69, of Nixa, MO, passed away February 11, 2022. She was born October 14, 1952, in Springfield, IL, to Benjamin and Gwendolyn Hankins.
Barbara graduated from Williamsville, IL High School in 1970. She retired from Citizens Electric Corporation in 2016 as the Manager of Member Services. Barbara worked at various electric utilities for 27 years including CILCO, Cilcorp, and Corn Belt Energy.
Barbara enjoyed going to see the shows in Branson with her late husband, Lynn. She loved her family and especially loved having a house full of kids, grandkids and friends where everyone enjoyed lots of food and lots of laughter. Barbara was a servant of the Lord and an active member of James River Church where she served as a Prayer Partner. She was also active in Life Groups through James River. She traveled to Haiti on a Mission Trip to spread the Word of salvation through Jesus Christ. Barbara wanted everyone to come to know Jesus, especially her family. She promised to be on the front row waiting for us in Heaven all so we can be together again one day.
Barbara leaves behind a legacy of being a devoted wife to Lynn and mother, a life of servanthood and commitment to the Lord; she was a woman full of love for everyone and you knew that the moment you met her. If there was anything that she taught us it was to love one another.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Casper; her parents; and sisters, Patricia Hankins, Kay Bullock and Judith Panton.
Barbara is survived by her six children, Ken (Brandy) Casper, Toni (Greg) Stephenson, Aarron (Susan) Casper, Heath Howard, Blake Casper and Lance Casper; grandchildren, great grandchildren; siblings, Rex Hankins and wife Judy; Max Hankins and partner Virginia Wilham.
A celebration of life will be held at James River Church, West Campus, 3953 W Farm Road 168, Springfield, MO, Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 11:30 am.
