Michael "Austin" Wood, 34, of Springfield, MO passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024. He was born June 21, 1990, to Michael and Tracie Wood in West Plains, MO.

Austin loved his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors and was known for his big heart and bringing jokes and laughter to those around him.

He was preceded in death by: grandfathers, David Melvin and Bill Wood; grandmother, Carol McAmis, all of West Plains; and a very special cousin, Gracee Sadler, of Clever, MO.

Austin is survived by: his wife, Rachael, and children, Braxton (11) and Dawson (6); parents Michael and Tracie Wood; brothers Dustin and Devin; grandmother, Bonnie Melvin, of West Plains; and grandfather, Lealin Wake, of Willow Springs.

There will be a graveside service for family at White Church in Pomona, MO.

A celebration of life will follow for close friends and family at Melvin Family Deer Camp.
