Arnetas Sparks, 100, of Republic, MO passed away Monday, February 26, 2024. She was born June 29, 1923, to Joseph and Josephine Pease in Muskogee, OK.

Arnetas graduated from Chilocco Indian Boarding School, a federal school for Native Americans, in Chilocco, OK. Arnetas graduated from Nursing School at Muskogee General Hospital, Muskogee, OK and worked at the Oklahoma Veteran's Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK during World War II. She also worked at the Aurora Hospital, Aurora, MO. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, quilting and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Sparks; her parents; five brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her children, Larry Eugene Sparks and wife Judy and Richard Allen Sparks and wife Cindy; her grandchildren, Travis Sparks and wife Elizabeth, Christopher Sparks and wife Tara, Dustin Sparks and wife Lauren, and Darren Sparks and wife Hannah; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces nephews and cousins.

Arnetas will be placed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with her husband, Paul. Services will be held by the family at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
