Anne Greenhaw, 94, of Republic, MO passed away Monday, July 29, 2024. She was born March 4, 1930, to Fred and Mary Stanley in Prescott, AR.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. James Greenhaw; her parents; two brothers, Howard Stanley and Fred Stanley Jr.; four sisters, Marie Bennett, Georgia Shipp, Mable Rhoades, and Opal Stanley.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Michael) Fox of Bozeman, MT; two sons, Jack Greenhaw of Little Rock, AR and John Greenhaw of Republic, MO; her daughter-in-law, Betty Greenhaw of Republic, MO; two granddaughters, Sara (Cassidy) Seiner and Elizabeth Greenhaw; and one great granddaughter, Eden Seiner, all of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by her constant companion, her Corgi Molly; a sister-in-law, Eva Lou Stanley of Prescott, AR; and nine nieces including Kay Brzeski of Hope, AR who will miss her Sunday night phone calls with Aunt Anne.
Raised on a small farm in Nevada County, Arkansas Anne and her siblings worked hard, attended church functions and went to Thomasville School nearby. Soon after graduating from Prescott High School at age 17, Anne boarded a train in Prescott and headed to Washington DC to work for the FBI. She met her husband James "Jim" Greenhaw at church and they married soon after. Anne continued to work for the FBI in Washington, San Fransisco, and Little Rock while Jim pursued a medical degree. When he began practicing medicine, Anne became a stay-at-home mom raising their three children. She was an excellent cook, especially her chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed reading, beautiful flowers, feeding songbirds and walking outside with Molly. Anne was a long-time member of The Church of Christ.
At Anne's request, no public services will be held. The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services of Springfield, MO.
