Alton Eugene "Wacker" Jackson, age 78, of New Madrid, MO, died November 26, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Born June 18, 1939, in New Madrid County, to the late Cleve and Sarah Jane Stanfield Jackson, he was the owner/operator of Jackson Concrete, and was of Baptist belief. He was an honorary member of the New Madrid American Legion Post #595. He was married to Sherry Jackson, who survives of Seymour, MO.

Additional survivors include: one son, Robert Alton Jackson of Seymour, MO; three daughters, Sissy Taylor of Huntsville, AL, and Kimberly Mathis and Carla Jackson, both of New Madrid, MO; three brothers, John Daniel Jackson of Matthews, MO, Jesse Jackson of East Prairie, MO and Teddy Jackson of Matthews, MO; two sisters, Charlotte Grissom of New Madrid, MO and Jeannie Redden of Kewanee, MO; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clevie O'Dell "Flukie" Jackson and Shirley Clifford "Tommy" Jackson; and three sisters, Willene Williams, Geraldine Bard and Lucille Partin.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO.  Pastor Jason Redden of New Madrid, MO, will officiate.
