Al Leon Tuck Smith, 71, of Springfield, was welcomed into the loving arms of God on Oct. 14, 2014. He was born October 22, 1942, in Pocahontas, AR, to Jess and Nola Smith. A passionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Al always reached out to help others in need. Al lived a full life enjoying the outdoors, horseback riding, especially trail riding, hunting, fishing, and loved target shooting with friends. A well-rounded, jack-of-all-trades, he was a very skilled craftsman and could do anything that he set his mind to do. Survived by his children, David Self, Springfield, MO; Debbie Holmes, Highlandville, MO; Katrina Key, Pocahontas, AR; Lorie Filtingberger, Nixa, MO; Patrice Smith, Springfield, MO; Rhonda Knee, Pocahontas, AR; Kim Harris, Jonesboro, AR; and Heath Smith, Springfield, MO. Per his request, he will be honored in a private ceremony with family and close friends. He will be dearly missed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Midwest Cremation and Funeral Services, Springfield.
